Meet Jamie O'Brien
Growing up on the North Shore of Oahu, near the legendary Pipeline surf break, professional surfer Jamie O’Brien has been chasing big waves most of his life. Surfing since he was three years old, Jamie has enjoyed the sport as both a career and lifestyle for over 25 years. As a testament to his extraordinary talent and innovative approach to surfing, Jamie was inducted into the 2024 Surfer’s Hall of Fame. This incredible honor recognizes his remarkable accomplishments and profound impact on the surfing community. From winning the Pipeline Masters to becoming a “free surfer,” Jamie now spends his days as a teacher, filmmaker, content creator, live show host, and public speaker. Today, he is celebrated as one of the most recognized surfers and action sports personalities in the world. His approach to the sport has always been to have as much fun as possible on the best waves he can find. He created the Jamie O’Brien Experience, a surf school on the North Shore, to teach his unique style of surfing and share the feeling of riding a wave. Now, he brings that experience to Waikiki.
